March Chess Madness!
School Team Competition, Hosted by Bennington Elementary

When: March 2nd, 2024 from 9:30~2:30
Schedule: The schedule is approximate as it is depends on how long the games take.
-9:30 check-in, you must be checked in at 9:45 to participate in the first round
-10:00 round one
-11:00 round two
-12:00 round three
-1:00 round four
-2:00 wrap-up and awards
Who can play: Grades 1-6 (all players in same group).
How it works: Schools can send up to 10 chess players. The four highest finishers from each school will have their points counted. The school with the most points wins! The winning school receives a trophy and framed picture of their chess team!
Games will be 30+0 time control. Some games may be played without a clock. In these games, if they are still playing after 40 minutes, a clock with 10 minutes on each side will be introduced. Clocks will be used for all higher board games in the later rounds, but for beginners playing without a clock is sometimes best.
